Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who served as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously was a part of the Obama administration as the White House deputy press secretary (2009) as well as the White House deputy communications director (2009-2011); the spokesperson for the United States Department of State (2013-2015) and as the White House communications director (2015-2017. Psaki was an CNN political contributor between 2017 and 2020. Psaki's career began in 2001 when she worked on behalf of the reelection campaigns for Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate. Psaki was later appointed as the deputy press secretary of John Kerry's campaign for president in 2004. Between 2005 and 2006, Psaki served as communications director to U.S. representative Joseph Crowley and regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 2012, Psaki returned to political communications as press secretary for President Obama's 2012 reelection campaign. 20 years ago, Psaki was appointed as spokesperson for the United States Department of State on February 11 13. [20] There was speculation she would replace Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary at the Department of State.[21However, Josh Earnest replaced Carney on May 30, 2014. In 2015, she returned to the White House as communications director and remained until the close of the Obama administration.
